When Shasta’s father loses his job, she is devastated to learn that previously laid plans for her upcoming birthday party must be significantly downsized. As the story progresses, Shasta and Simon meet a mysterious traveler who gives them a seed that will make a tree grow leaves of money. Through a truly magical journey, the two ultimately learn that being a loyal friend is worth more than a big party or having all the latest toys. In the end, our friends, family and imaginations are truly our greatest assets.

Mermaid’s new show will be directed and adapted by Jim Morrow, veteran director of numerous internationally acclaimed Mermaid productions. It features a diverse cast, an innovative approach to puppetry manipulation and construction, combined with playful original music for which the company has earned worldwide praise.

This concert gives young audiences an exhilarating glimpse into the mosaic of Holiday customs, celebrations and festivities enjoyed in Canada - Indigenous traditions, Ramadan, Bodhi Day (Buddhist), Carnival (Quebec), Chanukah, Chinese New Year, Christmas, Diwali, Kwanzaa (Pan-African), Halloween and Winter Solstice. Joining Chris McKhool are special guests Shannon Thunderbird (Indigenous Elder) and Sandy Horne (The Spoons), Aviva Chernick (Jaffa Road), Colombia’s Juan Carlos Medrano, Maryem and Ernie Tollar, and Sultans of String band members Kevin Laliberté and Drew Birston.

This crew originated from an idea by Montreal-based dancer/motivational speaker Luca "Lazylegz" Patuelli to create an all-star team of some of the world's best differently-abled dancers. ILL-ABILITIES™ was officially formed in 2007 and gets its name from the standard in hip-hop culture of using a negative term to refer to something positive. Examples of this can be heard in studios or at competitions where dancers compliment each other by saying they were bad, nasty or mean. The "ill" in ILL-ABILITIES™ does not refer to "sick" or "unwell" but rather to incredible, amazing, intricate, talent. Rather than seeing the negative limitations of "disability", this crew focuses on their positive, or "ill", abilities.
Today, ILL-ABILITIES™ spreads positive thinking by sharing their stories with motivational entertainment programs and theatrical dance performances worldwide.

Experience a thrilling adventure in movement featuring contemporary dance by some of North America’s fastest rising choreographers. Animated by CCDT Artistic Director Deborah Lundmark, the program includes a fabulous array of dances selected to leave you and your students breathless with the art form’s endless possibilities. Performances are 60 minutes long including a Q&A session with CCDT dancers.

Canadian Contemporary Dance Theatre is a Toronto-based repertory company of exceptional next-generation artists founded in 1980 by Artistic Director Deborah Lundmark and Managing Director Michael deConinck Smith. Outside is the story of Daniel, a teen who triumphs over homophobic bullying, depression and suicide. At his new school he shares his story at a meeting of the Gay Straight Alliance. Meanwhile, at his old school, struggling to come to terms with what happened, his friends Krystina and Jeremy attempt to start their own GSA. Through flashbacks, we travel through Daniel’s harrowing experience with bullying that began with a taunt and a text message and eventually led to a serious physical assault. Three friends, two high schools, one lunch hour.
